Also, although i know we might not be any help to you would you consider a Confed or NAP with Bru~Cru? we probably would never call on you but just having your alliance name as one of our confeds would make people think twice. Please let me know your thoughts.

Is the answer to your sneaky merchant question that you had 10 merchants on the road when someone catapulted your marketplace to level 9?

It could have been the right answer, but it is not.
I'll raise the amount of resources to 10 merchants (5000 resources) if the answer is right.

i think i should respond with something like:

1) build up warehouses and granaries in capital cities order for me to raid once a week
2) ensure the capital city granary and warehouse is always full in order for me to raid
3) stop building any units as they eat crop.
4) destroy all non essantial buildings like barracks, stable etc
4) in case i forget to raid remember to send daily allowance

Ireneus was right about the fact that I took over a village.
The original owner was busy sending away resources to one of his other villages.
So your answer is correct. i took over a village, and thus everything goes down one level...

5000 resources on the way...

It's much more fun to drain every single resource from them, and make them scream

have you ever accidently made the wrong troops in the wrong village .... for example i just made 145 axemen in my defensive village.... any way i was pissed about my stupidty and had no idea what to do with them.... so i randomly picked 7 people that are noobs and are about 2 days away for me to attack and they had to have some kind of threatning message on their account like..... take this or die ....or ... attack me and it will be your last.... some thing like that
